Well, Julie got her car - credit approval allowing. It's a neat one, a 2002 blue-green Chevy Prizm. It has cruise control which means my little Echo gets to stay at home on those long trips to see the parents (either pair.) To put this in perspective - the last repair bill and the latest estimate on what we should get fixed were $300 each. The trade in value of the car last night - $400. I think it was time to get a new one. This really means we are going to have to skrimp for a bit - but I'd rather have her driving a new car than getting heatstroke/frostbite and getting stranded someplace distant. Quote of the night - "I've had a bad day, I guess I'll go buy a car."

Ever get the feeling that the whole world is going down the drain? Well you may be right. This article from the Washington Post relates astronomers finding a black hole in the center of the Milky Way. Makes sense - ever look at a picture of the Milky Way? Reminds me a bit of water going down a drain.... Don't worry, I'm sure the sun will engulf the Earth well before it gets sucked into a black hole. (In other words it will be a long, long time!)
