Virus Alert: There's a new virus out there that you might see. I haven't heard of any attacks yet, but better safe than sorry.

This virus, named W32/InvalidSSL@MM, sends a message that sounds like it came from Microsoft and asks you to run the attachment to prevent hackers from accessing your computer. What this attachment will really do is change your computer programs so they are no longer able to run.

The thing to remember with this - and any other email attachment - is that if it ends with .exe, be very suspicious of it! More than likely it is a virus, even if the message says it comes from a trusted company or a known associate. For more information please refer to: McAfee's virus site.

What a day! It seems that all day was filled with calls to fix stuff. We have a method of reporting problems and it does work. People are normally good about going through the procedure, but maybe because it was Friday or because the problems involved web pages or something else, but my phone was ringing off the hook. This was one of those days that make me stop and think - why don't they know about these things? Then I answer - because no one has told them yet.

Oh well, it's almost the weekend. The big weekend when emeraldfusion officially goes live. There's a lot less here than I had planned, but eventually I'll get everything up. Of course I'll be up all night tonight - first with gaming and then with web page fidgeting ... it should be great! Of course there's the wedding I'm going to tomorrow night. I swear this has been the summer of matrimony! 3 of my friends have gotten married this summer, along with myself. It's almost scary!

Hoax alert! If you get a message regarding a Christopher John Mineo with a picture of a cute little boy, it is probably a hoax. Check out these three sites for more information, snopes.com , about.com, and truthorfiction.com

Ever have one of those days where you think you are going to be able to get a lot of stuff done, and then due to other people; you get nothing done? That was my night last night. Not that that's a bad thing. Julie was in a good mood and we hadn't spent any time lately just hanging around, being goofy. We sat outside and watched the sun set and talked. It was very nice to just be together instead of running around the country like all of our recent "together" time has been, if that makes any sense.

I'm seeing a new battle with CPUs is starting between Intel and AMD - this time over what really makes a difference in a processor - clock speed or frquency. If you are interested here are two articles about it from Tom's Hardware Guide and ZDNet News.

The ballgame last night was... interesting. I must say it went a lot faster than when I watch it on TV, but then again I was able to sit and chat and be a part of the "action". Baseball is better when you can see the whole thing, not just what the tv director choose to broadcast. That's the same with just about any sporting event I guess. The 'Dogs lost causing Troy to state that he can never take me to a sporting event ever again because the home team always loses when I'm there. (Although I swear I went to a hockey game where Lincoln won...)

Maybe I won't have everything ready for Saturday, but what I have up will be working! I'm thinking about creating some t-shirts with the Emerald Fusion logo on them through cafepress. But first I would need to create a logo...

Well, I think I may have cured myself over wanting a new computer. I took a good long look at my credit card debt last night. Ouch! Kiddies - transfering from a high interest rate card to a lower interest rate card is a good thing only if you didn't already have a big balance on that card Yowsers!

Going to a baseball game tonight, my first semi-pro game that I've ever attended. Not I'm not that big of a baseball fan, but when the opportunity presented itself , I just had to give it a shot. (Thanks Troy!)

I stayed up way too late last night, but sounds like I wasn't the only one who did. A bunch of people I talked to today said the same thing. Maybe it's this near 100 degree weather?? Maybe?

Here I am at work;supposed to be proofing an article, retrofitting a bad Access program into an Excel spreadsheet, fixing two bugs in another Acess program, typing up minutes for a meeting, creating an online training module for new software, revising my computer literacy course which I start next month, line up students for that class along with probably 20 other things I've forgotten and what am I doing? Writing in my blog about how much I have to do... Sometimes I wonder if I'm one of "them there Internet addicts" and will end up on Sally Jesse or Jerry Springer saying "The Internet ruined my life..."

Anyway, spent way too much money yesterday, but that's cool as payday is Friday. Glimpsed at a new Sony computer that just looks too sweet. Almost bought it online last night - but they were having problems with their customize system and I certainly wasn't going to order a straight -up package. I probably could make my own but I don't have the inclination. I'm a computer user, not a computer builder. (Something my former comp. architecure profs will atest too.) Besides, I should probably pay off my current machine - and Julie really needs a new car. Ah well, c'est la vie!

Ok, I'm ready to do some work. I promise that the next time I blog I will have at least one item crossed off my to-do list.

It's Saturday and I feel like spending money! I'm going with Julie to buy her a birthday present today, even though her birthday isn't until later. It's just there are sales now so I should do it. You can't argue with that... But that's not enough, I feel the need for a new computer coming on. It's just to easy to go to those web pages - build the perfect system and then click "Buy now", those rotten so-and-sos... notice sarcasm And the fact I own a game I can't play on my current system just adds to the agony. Oh well, more cleaning of the blog later, I gotta go shop!

Welcome to my NEW webpage! I'm not actually "open for business" yet, but I needed to test somethings out so consider this a sneak preview! The official open is September 1, but I'll probably be updating this blog as if it was already after my start date. Don't be surprised to see things come and go until then!
