Well, I'm actually going to try and find out why my pages aren't listed in Google anymore. I fired off an email, today so let's see what happens.

On some good news, I noticed some more life on the message board. Maybe that'll get my but in gear to actually fix it up right! or maybe I'll go play computer games.

I wish I could figure out what is causing my ennui today. I sit at the computer trying to think of new places to try on the web, and end up just sitting. I don't feel like playing any of the computer games I have sitting half-finished on the hard drive. There is still much to do on this page and the message board. And if I felt like being a little more practical - there's work projects, research or chores that could be done. Maybe it's just that I'm expecting my latest Amazon.com order and it hasn't shipped yet. Oh well, at least I'm currently enjoying listening to some Chris Rock. "Cornbread. Nothing wrong with that!" True dat. Word!

Nothing like a sinus infection to make you feel like death warmed over for a few days. Even for days after you stop blowing your nose non-stop - you are just physically drained due to the lack of sleep. I'm getting back in the swing of things, but something tells me I'll probably keep my office door closed for a few more days as I catch up. I usually keep the door open - I am an "answer man" as part of my job so I need an "open door policy", plus the work environment I'm in really encourages the bonding and collobrative problem solving/bitching and moaning that goes on. I guess I'm lucky that I work with a bunch of "sociable" techies instead of "hide-in-their-holes" techies.

Oh, I'm feeling better now BTW. Thanks for asking.

I just saw the coolest music video ever! It was the White Stripes for a song called Fell In Love With a Girl. What made it so cool? It was all done in Lego! I don't know if they did it 100% stop-action Lego brick-by-brick, but it sure looked cool! And can I use anymore exclamation points in this paragraph?!?!

OK, I've gotten fed up with my own feeble attempts at creating a pure CSS layout. It looked nice in IE, but like utter trash in Netscape. I guess I need more practice. Here is the newest version - expect more tweaks as time goes on and then hopefully I'll have the redesign fever out of my system for a while.

That was a weekend I'm not planning to repeat anytime soon. I'm drained and I smell funny too. I guess spending all day in a smoke filled social hall will do that to you. The team did ok, tied for 5th out of 12 teams. We kind of failed at the end, but it was our best showing since we started throwing together. I also got that web page redesign done (see {client removed on request 7/19/02} on Saturday, only took me 12 hours. It matches the specs I was given - that's about all I can say. I wanted to do some more, but I was given some specifics and it's best to stay with what you agreed to in the beginning!

Man, my head hurts. I don't know what it is, but right now I am ultrasensitive to high frequencies, which includes that computer on my desktop right now. I've having muscle spasms all around my skull - making it hard to think. I'm thinking I might have to go get some caffine or try moving everything on my desk today. I don't want to go the caffine route as I've gone almost 3 weeks without it and I want to break myself of that habit. I don't drink alcohol anymore, I don't smoke anymore, I don't eat much chocolate, I never did illegal drugs - now I'm dropping pops and sodas... I will be no fun at parties!!

Man, my weekend got a lot busier yesterday. I'm already doing the city dart tournament (didn't do so well last night, BTW) and for my "free day" Saturday, I picked up a web redesign job. It shouldn't be that much work, and it's a good wage so I can't complain too much. It does mean that more EmFuse stuff will have to wait though. ERF!

Wednesday, March 13, 2002

Yeah, Yeah, I know. I've got a lot to bring back to the page - but I'm sick right now and don't want to hear about it. OK? I'm hoping to get a bunch up Saturday. Thanks for understanding...

Anyone know why Google isn't listing me anymore? Anyone? It lists the store, and has people who link to me - but not me anymore. Was it something I said, Google? I didn't mean to hurt you.. {end sarcasm} I went ahead and resubmitted my url to the great crawler, so let's wait and see what happens, shall we?

I was really expecting to seee more discussion about it being 6 months since the 9/11. I saw ... not much. I did read an article in the paper on how the American people don't seem to recognize or appreciate the fact that we are at war. I mentioned the same type of thing back in January over at Theme of Absence, so I won't repeat myself on the topic.

Anyway -
Here's to the heroes - both home and away.
Here's to the heroes - both living and passed away.
Here's to the heroes - both now and yesterday.
Here's to the heroes - until we don't need heroes again.
{bad poetry is my forte!}

Just a quick note to wish Alex a Happy Birthday! Hope it's a good one!

Well that didn't work as well as I'd have liked. Oh well, here version 2.1 of the webpage I guess. I'm going to slowly bring back the subject pages, just to make sure I get everything right this time. BTW: look for the links on the left... ERF!

Sunday, March 03, 2002

Finally, I've gotten most of the kinks out. Well, this is the new look - How do you like it? I'll be posting the links and articles in that space to the right, my "log" stuff will go here. I think that will let me accomplish 2 things. 1) I can be a little more verbose in my entries, so I don't feel so edited/censored/cut short and 2) I don't have to wait until I'm feeling verbose to get links out to people. Oh and here's something for the code geeks - NO TABLES! That's right, this page uses a lot of CSS "stolen" from glish.com with a lot of messing around by me. I'm still learning CSS, so if something doesn't work - let me know! {It may not be the cleanest code, but it works for me}

There's still a bunch of work to do, like bringing my "subject pages" online, but they'll get there. Julie thinks I need some pictures on here, so I'll try to get my little mascot up here. I've been sketching some model sheets for a contest I had hoped to run in January - so maybe it'll be run this month. I'll see ya'll on the flip side.

Don't mind the mess, just working on the new layout....

Not much to tell you today EmFusers.. I've given into the temptation to try a new look for the page so I'll be tinkering around in the background for a while. Who knows, I may start tinkering and then decide I don't have time right now to change things. I'm so tempermental. {grin}

My latest political commentary has been posted on Theme of Absence. Take a look at it here.

Julie & I went to see the St. Petersburg Philharmonic last night. It was, in a word, powerful. The only complaint I have is that I heard too many people saying that if they knew that they were going to play these pieces, they wouldn't have came. What??? This is a traditional Russian orchestra - what did you expect? Maybe it's cause I happen to like the old Russian composers, I don't understand how someone can fou-fou one of the world's best orchestral ensembles because they played Shostakovich.. I don't understand people sometimes.
