I had planned on using my notes to tell you about Gnomedex... and of course when it comes time to do that I find that I had accidentally deleted all my notes. ERF!

Oh well, if you want to know about what happened just do a Google or Feedster search on it. I enjoyed it a lot, and I am already planning on attending next year.

rrrr... I had a bunch typed in, but then I accidentally closed the browser window before hitting "post". My Gnomedex weekend notes will have to wait until I get home, and then I'll just cut & paste from the notes in my handheld.

In the meantime, to answer a couple of questions:
1) Yes, I am working on a new design for the page, but you can't see it yet.
2) Yes, I am playing with RSS feeds for the site, but they aren't ready yet.

Basically I plan on making a "geek worthy" yet "regular-person readable" web blog and online journal for myself. Seems doable...

I do have a question for you though. Should I lose the message board? No one seems to use it anymore. Please use it, or let me know if there are changes that need to be done to it - otherwise it is going to disappear after a while.

I'm leaving tomorrow for Gnomedex. This will be my first conference that didn't directly involve libraries of somesort. A bunch of technolust and geekdom will be seen!

Speaking of technolust... I've really been jonesin' to buy a new handheld today. I don't know what it was, but I've been thinking about picking up one of those that have a built in camera, full color screen, more processing power than my first desktop computer... Yeah one of
these... Maybe I need professional help {grin}

So... I'm away for the weekend and I get an email from a publisher wanting me to go over the galley proofs* of my article and have them back in 72 hours. I read the message about 24 hours after that deadline. Grrr, there goes my morning.

On the other hand, it looks like it might get published a lot sooner than originally thought (Possibly September!) so what's a little inconvenience?

*For those of you who don't know, galley proofs are when you get a copy of the piece already laid out and ready for final proofing.

I'm thinking it is time for another change... I'll probably redo the website soon. A minimalist approach to my webpage is in order. I've got stuff I haven't updated for a while that will probably disappear.

Yep, that means I'm frustrated at the lack of changes in my job, so I take it out on my web site! {grin}
