Strange Dreams

Julie & I are staying overnight at my parents and I have this very strange dream. Now I don't remember my dreams very often so the fact that I remember it rather clearly that makes it even stranger. Shall we dig into my psyche a bit? Yes, let's.

I'm at a mall, or perhaps a conference center with a rather large gift shop, and I'm talking with Chris Pirillo, of Lockergnome fame. Just the type of conversation that two random people have when they meet at a conference. Now for some reason we come across Ashton Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon working on some film shoot.

The next thing I know I'm in some jeep-type of vehicle with Pirillo driving to some backwoods area of Georgia. He's playing with these Iomega Zip drives that he's attached shoes to. Placing them in the window so it looks like he has his feet up, placing them under his seat so it looks like someone is laying on the floor; just a bunch of odd things. We pull up to this shack and find Ashton Kutcher there. We start trying to talk him into working on this project of ours, when suddenly we are attacked by redneck ninjas with axes! I run away and run into Reese Witherspoon out in the middle of the woods and the two of us start running away.

I then wake up thinking, "What the????" Why am I dreaming about Chris Pirillo? Or better yet, why am I dreaming of Ashton Kutcher. It's not like I've watched anything he was in. Then there are the redneck ninjas. That's just a strange mix.

All this leads me to ask everyone to remind me never to try pickled asparagus again.

The Lord of the rings

Julie & I went out yesterday afternoong with Charity, her hubby Tim, and Joanie B to see the Return of the King. Good film! Of course, you've probably heard that. It was also one of the few times that I've had to wait in line to use the men's room. It was that interesting of a movie, nobody wanted to leave during the showing. How rude of the director to make a movie without a built in bathroom break! {grin!}

It feels good

I'm finally getting stuff of my to-do list. I know, "Big Deal!" Well it is a big deal when most everything I've done in the past two and a half months has had to go through committee after task force after review group. Of course, each one has some sort of revision that needs to made before they are satisfied. Luckily a lot of that stuff is now finished as I think I have finally run out of people to run them past. ERF!

Today I also did a lot of updating on the Nebraska Library Association page. It felt really good to have something I could do and it is done. No review board, no ad hoc committee - just me and my work. It has been too long since I got to do that.

Now I'm not knocking having people review my work, its just I would like to be able to finish it and move on and not hear 20 people argue about the placement of a semi-colon. OK, slight exaggeration, but some days it certainly feels that way.

I'm Back....

I just flew in from Portland, and boy are my arms tired.. {bada BUM!}

It was very interesting, and I'll elaborate later, but right now I've got to catch up on some email. Later!

Post Turkey Day recap

I hope everyone that celebrates Thanksgiving at this time had a plesant one. Julie & I held an impromtu dinner with my sis, C. when sis B. and her family got sick. {Get well soon!!} It was nice, we had a semi-traditional meal, but we all missed eating with the rest of the family. I hope Christmas treats us better. {grin}

The rest of the weekend was filled with work. I spent five hours on Saturday going over applications for a position at the library. That's a good way to really kill any brain resting you might have had planned. I also got to tromp around on my roof. Julie mowed the lawn to work in the leaves, and it looks pretty darn good. In fact, I think it looks better now than it did this summer.

Things are going to be nuts this week, but hopefully by the end of it, I will have either handed over a lot of projects to someone else or have finished them myself. After that - a trip to Portland, OR. If any of my loyal readers are from there, let me know!
