D-Day + 1

Well, I still don't know the results of the tenure deliberations. They can't tell me the results until all the candidates have been discussed, and there's still one more that needs to be voted on. I should know late this morning what the result is.

I tell you, this tenure process has filled my mind this past month. I really couldn't concentrate on anything. I'm always a bit distracted, but this month I've been extra flakey. Thanks to everyone for understanding!

I wish I could describe the feeling. It's like seeing a big present with your name on it, that you are sure is that one thing you wanted for some time, but you can't tell for sure until you unwrap it. You want to tear into that package so bad, but everyone keeps telling you to "be patient". It's anticipation for what you wanted mixed with a little bit of hope that you really are getting whatever it was that you desire and a tinge of fear that it isn't.
