ERF!

Well, I got the results of the deliberations....

"split vote".

If I understand procedures correctly, I will get a letter from the library faculty on why I received the vote I did, I will write a rebutal, and the Dean will meet with the faculty sometime in early January and then I will know if I move on in the process. BTW: The other candidates cleared with flying colors.

Am I angry? No. Am I frustrated? Yes.

At this point, please don't ask for anymore details on this matter as I either don't have them, or can't say them in a public forum. All I can say is, "ERF!"

D-Day + 1

Well, I still don't know the results of the tenure deliberations. They can't tell me the results until all the candidates have been discussed, and there's still one more that needs to be voted on. I should know late this morning what the result is.

I tell you, this tenure process has filled my mind this past month. I really couldn't concentrate on anything. I'm always a bit distracted, but this month I've been extra flakey. Thanks to everyone for understanding!

I wish I could describe the feeling. It's like seeing a big present with your name on it, that you are sure is that one thing you wanted for some time, but you can't tell for sure until you unwrap it. You want to tear into that package so bad, but everyone keeps telling you to "be patient". It's anticipation for what you wanted mixed with a little bit of hope that you really are getting whatever it was that you desire and a tinge of fear that it isn't.

Intelligence?

Your Dominant Intelligence is Linguistic Intelligence

You are excellent with words and language. You explain yourself well.
An elegant speaker, you can converse well with anyone on the fly.
You are also good at remembering information and convicing someone of your point of view.
A master of creative phrasing and unique words, you enjoy expanding your vocabulary.

You would make a fantastic poet, journalist, writer, teacher, lawyer, politician, or translator.

I think that it sums it up quite nicely, despite the lack of evidence on this blog to prove it.

D-Day

Today is D-Day for me, Deliberations Day that is.

This morning the already tenured & promoted library faculty will gather to review my folders and decide if they want me to join their ranks permanently.

After the library faculty vote, then the Dean of Libraries will make a decision.

After the Dean, the Vice Chancellor will make a decision

After the Vice Chancellor, the Regents will make a decision.

I should know officially if I receive my tenure and promotion around June. ERF!

Until then, I will hope for good tidings with today's vote and hope I pass the first phase of this process.
