Tenure...

Guess what was waiting for me in my office this morning...

A letter from the Vice Chancellor recommending me for the next step in the tenure proceedings!

At this point, it is pretty much just a few more formalities until it is official, so I guess I can say that I will achieve tenure unless I do something incredibly stupid, immoral, illegal, or a combination of all three.

The problem with snow days...

The problem with snow days, for some of us, is that there is snow to be shoveled. Man is my back sore. I don't have a snow blower, but in this case I think it was a good thing. I've talked to a few people who had problems with their blowers getting all clogged with the wet heavy snow. I spent less time shoveling with my shovel than some needed with their blowers.

It isn't often where old-fashioned muscle beats current technology. Maybe there's a piece of John Henry in this gadget-geek's heart

Snow Day

A rarity this morning, the University is closed today due to snow. I will admit, I did a little dance when I saw it on TV that I wouldn't have to go to work today. But, let's keep that to ourselves, shall we? Thanks!

Server issues

Sorry about the lack of posts, had some server issues. Thing seem to be ok now.
